This is correct, most larger companies have built this themselves already

And most mid-sized and above companies will absolutely not want this infra to be dependent on a single AI vendor, and they also want to control inference (models, cost etc)

@GergelyOrosz @karpathy TBH, though, most enterprises have already built a version of this. Hell, Block was talking publicly about doing this with Goose a year ago. It's not ground-breaking.

It is useful, and there is a market for it.

But others were here a long time ago.

I will say if you’re a startup but don’t think you can build this, you’re def not an AI-native startup

And yes worth controlling THIS part of your own infra! And not get locked in to any AI lab

@GergelyOrosz We've built this back in October for our small 8 ppl team, including integrations with source repos, forum, email, cms, and crm. It's really not hard for small companies to build something maintainable and reliable, while having full control wrt models/cost.

We have built this and the issue is no longer technical (mostly). Companies do not want one vendor and one model vendor cannot account for all of the nuances of how any one company makes decisions.

The hard part is no longer getting it to work and be effective.

It’s getting people to use and trust it — even when it’s already better than what they have today.
