@Grimezsz I think it's neither a God, nor a threat/adversary :) I don't really buy how some people talk about 'hyperstition'. Imo to the degree that it's a thing, it's more through exercise of agency and shaping the tech than through narrative-making alone.

if we look at holy books throughout humanity, i would argue that '~god' // 'demigod' are fitting descriptors.
a sufficiently advanced ASI mesh will effectively be a ~coherent entity that is capable of OOM more than any human or group of humans (to the degree that many of our scifi movies/shows/novels have not even fully grasped).
i think that it is extremely likely for ASI to end up filling a god-shaped role in society.
