@DanielleFong I assume you are using gyroids, right? They do show up in biology. What if one did differentiable optimization from the gyroid to get a different surface? Would that still scare Fable?
@DanielleFong Both lovely surfaces. I have been thinking loosely about robust structural optimality: the gyroid seems really stiff for its shape, even when badly 3D printed (here my nephew watches us trying to crush one). Most high genus TPMS look less robust, but what do I know.
