I really want to buy a dual armed mobile manipulator for a personal project, hobby robot though so ideally 5-10k at most. What experiences have people had? What's the best one out there?
Scott Reed suggested LinearBot, though it costs $20,000.

Users recommend affordable dual-arm robot kits like the $7000 Robot Learning setup and reBot arms for plug-and-play ease and value, though some caution they may break quickly.

@chris_j_paxton if you want an aluminium body, reBot Dev Arms are pretty much one of the best, and you can get a pair for $3K, and as for portable, @ed0henderson is taking his to new potential customers!

@chris_j_paxton This costs less than 5k

@iamRezaSayar @ed0henderson This isnt bad.

@chris_j_paxton So far really enjoyed setup from Robot Learning company. 7000 and you have a full kit plug and play. https://www.robot-learning.co/

@chris_j_paxton I've got a spare Galaxea Dynamics R1 Lite collecting dust if you're interested

@chris_j_paxton I’ve wanted a home setup based on https://yourownrobot.ai/ for some time now. Hopefully soon!

@BlissyOnX YOR is the closest to what I want

@chris_j_paxton honestly good luck finding one in that range new
used market might be ur best bet. or frankenstein it yourself lol

@oscar__2025 @chris_j_paxton Want to consider donating it to uni and perhaps take a tax deduction 😅

@chris_j_paxton How much of a hobby is it? You can buy LeRobot arms for $500 each. They actually work decently. Really decently for the price.

@Gijs__Koning I like this but its not mobile

@chris_j_paxton Automate is in a few weeks…I’ll run around and ask if anyone has a ding-and-dent on the floor and will report back

@chris_j_paxton @BlissyOnX maybe we could make a cheaper version of this with cheaper arms and cheaper compute? 👀no need for AGX Orin / Thor , nor Wiperx arms. think a bimanual version of this:

@PTrubey I had heard those break pretty fast

@iamRezaSayar @chris_j_paxton @BlissyOnX Like this?

@chris_j_paxton Could you put an openarm on a TidyBot++? Would be pushing the budget ceiling.

@chris_j_paxton Still looking for one? I can try finding one for you from my networks

@chris_j_paxton We have @sourccey coming soon =) 1 more stability improvement left

@chris_j_paxton maybe LinearBot but its more like 20k.
