frontier model naming is so hard. u have to give a cool name, and also escalate with intensity. e.g. haiku isn't gonna be ASI. prolly not sonnet. opus? but what if u make a bigger model? mythos is too scary for shareholders. fable is okay. but even bigger model? bible? manifesto? https://twitter.com/_xjdr/status/2075345372852174905
what do u even name a bigger model than sol. bc like it's the solar system tho right, that's the whole bit. u can't name it like alpha centauri or black hole. they have written themselves into a corner!
sol, terra and luna might be the very first time openai has named something not completely terribly. more than that, id venture to say these names might even be good. really turning over a new leaf
