How to keep YouTube videos in Theater Mode without an extension
Neowin says extending the “wide” cookie’s expiry can keep Theater Mode on after you close and reopen your browser.
TLDR
Neowin’s guide recommends opening your browser’s developer tools, finding YouTube’s “wide” cookie, confirming its value is 1, and replacing its Session expiry with a future date. Neowin says this should keep Theater Mode enabled across sessions in that browser profile. Clearing YouTube cookies or using private browsing can undo the change, and the workaround may not keep working forever.
