Google Messages changes its timestamp and reply gestures
Version 20260910_03_RC02 is widely rolling out a left swipe for timestamps and encryption status, while direct replies move to a right swipe.
TLDR
Google Messages is widely rolling out redesigned gestures in version 20260910_03_RC02, 9to5Google reports. Swiping left anywhere in a conversation now reveals timestamps and RCS encryption status for all messages; direct replies move to a right swipe on an individual bubble. Tapping a message still shows read receipts, and Google briefly exposes timestamps after a tap to teach the new gesture.
