Apple and Google Update Maps to Lake America

Multiple news outlets report that President Trump issued an executive order renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America. Apple Maps now displays the new name for U.S. users after the company was contacted directly by the president, according to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. Google made a similar change over the weekend. Trump stated that the update is complete, ratified, and binding, comparing it to earlier map adjustments for the Gulf of America. Screenshots shared on social media show the label appearing across the water body near cities including Toronto and Buffalo.
