Our attempts to slow Chinese AI have only accelerated it, as I predicted years ago. Chinese chip making were bloated, bedsore, dinosaurs. We had 100% of the chip market and rug pulled them and started a new cold war, directly signaling to the most powerful manufacturing and energy producing country in the world that we intended to squeeze them mercilessly. They've responded with chokepoints on critical minerals and rare Earths and radically accelerated their chip and energy build outs. When China produces a 100X cheaper EUV or EUV adjacent technology it's going to be a moment of intense congitive dissonance and shock for the people who did this. They won't learn. They'll blame someone else. They'll never look in the mirror and realize "we did this to ourselves."
If there's something true about the US/China relation is that an embargo that was meant to slow China down mostly taught it to build without us, faster, cheaper with less power and older hardware. This needs to be a lesson for everyone in America.
