This makes me even more happy that I kept almost all of Usenet. I now have repos that people can use to train on pre web content on Hugging Face and some of the early models (like an AI built with no knowledge of anything post 2005) are fascinating. Its like asking myself questions from 30 years ago.

@BrianRoemmele My MySpace page had some amazing photos of younger me. I didn't copy them over to Facebook because that seemed redundant effort. The originals and my PC (with the files) gone due to my mother being an evil monster. The great MySpace data loss disappeared all the photos.
@BrianRoemmele All because of incentives changed. Like ranking for SEO, optimization by Google changed how pages show up. Most of it is self inflicted.
