@suchenzang Even if China clearly has models 10x better than any USA model, we'll still have large swaths of people who believe with their whole hearts they're just distillations and their GPUs are weak and pathetic.

Just like it's massively in China's best interest that we're heavily dependent on them for so much of our stuff.

@Sentdex @suchenzang What makes you think china won’t do the same if they reach same capability as US? They are still smuggling nvidia chips and are using stolen credit cards to buy oai and Anthropic subs and selling them at a fraction.
