M5 Ultra Mac Studio reportedly gets $15,500 upgrade to 512GB of memory

Apple's M5 Ultra Mac Studio can now be configured with 512GB of unified memory on Apple's online store, according to Oct. 28, 2026, reports by Joe Rossignol at MacRumors and Chance Miller at 9to5Mac.

The option is limited to the top-tier M5 Ultra with a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU. MacRumors puts the U.S. starting price of that processor configuration at $6,799, with another $15,500 for 512GB of memory. That brings the least expensive reported 512GB setup to $22,299, not the starting price of every Mac Studio. 9to5Mac specifies that the $22,299 setup has 1TB of storage and that the processor's base configuration has 96GB of unified memory.

For more storage, both outlets report a $29,799 price with 512GB of memory and 16TB of storage. The memory option does not extend to the M5 Max Mac Studio: MacRumors reports that model tops out at 128GB.
