The 2022 lawsuit alleges that Apple limited rival tap-to-pay wallets while charging issuers 0.15% on credit-card purchases and half a cent on debit transactions. Certification does not decide whether Apple broke the law, and Apple has since expanded third-party access to the iPhone's NFC system.
