TLDR

Techmeme, citing The Verge, reports that Anthropic’s updated policy bans “sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude, with conversations ended as the primary enforcement mechanism. One user says Anthropic excludes ordinary frustration, pushback, dark creative themes and model testing, but worries that Claude has ended less drastic exchanges.

Chubby♨️@kimmonismusI really dislike that: Anthropic is explicitly banning sustained abuse toward Claude in its updated usage policy. The policy prohibits “sustained and needless abusive or cruel behavior” toward its models. According to The Verge, ending the conversation remains the main enforcement mechanism. Anthropic says this applies to extreme, repeated cruelty with no discernible purpose. Ordinary frustration, pushback, dark creative themes and model testing are excluded. However, numerous users had already noticed previously that Claude ends the conversation during less drastic exchanges. And it seems as though this is now intensifying.1h
