@Teslarati🚨 🚀 Let's take a trip to Starbase, LA with @PrincessDeixa: This is Abbeville in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana. It's the closest town to Pecan Island, and a place that's going to feel the coming space-age changes in a big way. The pink building, Magdalen Place, is the hall where Louisiana and SpaceX made their joint Starbase announcement - Starship's next home - on Aug. 25th this year. SpaceX came back to the same hall on Sept. 24th and did a town hall with Vermilion Parish residents to hear their concerns and bring more clarity to their plans. The theater across the street made sure to express their sentiments on the marquee; however, they weren't hosting any the events. On this trip, I spoke to some locals about the area and what they thought of the SpaceX purchase. They all immediately pointed to SpaceX's recent visits - my impression was that it was an important gesture to everyone. The overall vibe? "Cautiously optimistic." The Cajun history in this place runs deep. I could spend days exploring it - and I will in the coming months!
