Quest Diagnostics discloses unauthorized access to lab tool, believes patient records were accessed

Quest disclosed unauthorized access to its Quanum Lab Services Manager in an Oct. 22 filing, Gizmodo reports. The company believes certain patient records were accessed, but the scope remains under investigation. The Washington Post reports Quest paused the tool and several others used by health care professionals. Quest told the Associated Press its investigation found no connection to the recent PHP vulnerabilities.
