I think that folks are anchoring too hard on the recent Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 release restrictions. Expect the pendulum to swing back in the other direction. There are massive economic and strategic pressures toward wide roll-outs of ever more advanced AI systems.

Yes - it's a huge deal, big shifting of the Overton window, etc...and also I don't think it's at all settled that this approach specifically is the new normal.
