YC-backed startup optimizes GPU usage for open-source model inference.
Wafer announced a $40 million Series A. MarathonMP and Chemistry co-led the round. Wing_VC, AMD Ventures, Outset Capital, Fifty Years, Y Combinator, and prior investors took part. Angels including Jeff Dean and others joined. Y Combinator stated the company reached $8 million ARR four months after its cloud launch. Wafer routes and optimizes open models across NVIDIA, AMD, TPUs, and other hardware to deliver low-cost inference with low latency.
