Codebreaker Labs has raised $4.5 million in seed financing to expand a genomic AI platform built around experimental measurements of genetic variants. Kickstart led the round, with Buff Gold Ventures, Children’s Hospital Colorado, Denver Ventures, Service Provider Capital and Pelican Trust participating.
According to the company’s financing announcement, the money will support laboratory expansion, scientific hiring and development of its first commercial variant Atlas and AI interpretation tools.
Measuring what genetic changes do
DNA sequencing can identify a variant, but that does not automatically explain its biological effect. Codebreaker says its platform introduces individual single-nucleotide variants into disease-relevant primary human cells and measures the resulting effects at genome scale.
The company is building its first Atlas with a children’s hospital collaborator. The initial work focuses on immunology and blood cancers, with a commercial release targeted for 2027. Codebreaker says the Atlas is designed to measure 100,000 variants and pair that dataset with models trained to support genomic interpretation.
The funding announcement establishes the company’s method, target and financing. It does not independently validate the platform’s accuracy, clinical usefulness or claim that the resulting data will improve patient decisions. Those questions will depend on published evidence and external evaluation as the first Atlas moves toward release.
