Making a change to the Hermes Agent Curator that will make it so it only Prunes unused skills by default, it will no longer consolidate skills unless you opt in in the config or dashboard.
It was costing upwards of 16$ per week to operate for some using frontier models and causing some confusion for other users. This is a better middle ground for a default scenario.
Users praise Nous Research's opt-in skill consolidation update for the Hermes Agent Curator because it delivers cost savings, cleaner agents, and less admin overhead.

@hueppow It would find overspecific skills, consolidate them into umbrella skills so there aren't hundreds

@Teknium Hi bro, maybe we can also consider a solution optimize session db, just delete old session looks too violent, need something like consolidation or dream for historical sessions
@Xman3721 mmm Why do we need that? I have 4 months old session db with maybe 50+K conversations and session search runs over it in 100ms

@Teknium @hueppow my agent consolidated excalidraw into claude-design and archived supporting scripts. Then it just lost the capability to use excalidraw. So it seems consolidation can sometimes be equivalent to deletion. Is this by design?
@Teknium Hah! Even my default agent was getting pissed at curator because it was archiving skills that had tool calls but curator said that it was archiving for non use. LOL

@Teknium En mi caso configure un simple cron nocturno con optimización de todo, limpieza de temporales y archivos, organización , update del sistema,copia de seguridad , optimización general de memoria , wiki y algo más. Sencillo pero eficiente 👍
