The point was not about getting a PhD or not. It is putting it in a social handle is a bit odd.

There is no denying that researchers look down on people without a PhD. Of course not everyone but it happens a lot.

At the end PhD is simply learning how to do research. Except a handful of people no one even reads your PhD thesis. Expectational work is usually done after PhD or in industry.
