Many users agree with Gary Marcus that frontier AI labs are refusing to slow development rather than finding it impossible, citing their track record and silence on the matter.

Anthropic, if they really believe what they say, should show some leadership:
@GaryMarcus It is impossible. Too many ppl vested into relentless growth. Too many ppl looking forward to epic “liquidity event”. The moment he gives signal they will slow down, he’s out or at least half the team jump ships
