I know how the US can and should do open source AI. It is not like China.

We have 17 months.

I can say making ANY model throttled will send us to the AI dark ages.

@BrianRoemmele So Chinese AI firms get to trawl LibGen, Z-Library, Anna’s Archive, DuXiu, etc. without consequence while Anthropic had to cut up & scan millions of books & other Western firms had to remove materials in their training corpus due to lawsuits, nerfing models.

Assuming equal split of costs there's no relative advantage given away, everybody just pays less and probably better result.

@BrianRoemmele It’s better to have the Apple business model. The consumer is willing to pay for hardware not software. So you sell a MacBook Pro for a premium that people are buying to use Apple software.
