Two things: I didn’t expect how much you un/learn while running a startup — while at the same time how you know the Truth that drives it from the first second. I’ve updated everything like some Ship of Theseus since starting except for the core mission, about which I was right. I also didn’t expect how great and smart people are. I thought I would be dealing with far more toxicity. But we figured out the MO at the start, and had basically zero issues in either the community forum or at public events ever since.
I think there should be new cultural institutions. My way of helping has been to build one! The future will be surprising. But people craving culture and each other's company, new ideas and new friends, never changes.
