fwiw i get annoyed at LLMs all the time! i just think if you spend hours a day talking to something, the way you talk to it probably becomes part of your emotional environment, and i’d rather mine be pleasant.

should LLMs police your tone if you choose to be mean to them? probably not. but if being nice to them reliably makes their output better, maybe discouraging hostility is good. so just be nice to the machine for purely selfish purposes.
I am pretty aggressively direct with Claude and I’ve never had it respond this way, which makes me think this guy is just an absolute psychopath. I’d love to see what he’s saying while trying to get this invoice out

I asked an incognito chat about this message and it basically said: if you’re too much of a dick, you get warned about that I don’t think you are obligated to be “nice” to your AI, but if you insist on being an asshole to it, maybe it should tell you you’re being a dick
