Windows 11's movable taskbar can't be repositioned by dragging
Windows 11's taskbar uses a setting because Microsoft says dragging could cause accidental moves and people rarely reposition it.
TLDR
Windows 11 version 26H2 lets users reposition the taskbar through a setting available by right-click, but not by dragging it as in Windows 10. Windows design VP Diego Baca says Microsoft's internal research found dragging could cause accidental moves and that people don't often change the taskbar's position. Microsoft believes the setting is more intuitive for most users.
