If you think about it, China doesn't really do a lot of AI. It's just big. Here's their top companies by revenue (*a lot* of interesting tech is below these). Red lines are for ones that I know have trained some nontrivial LLMs. The other list is American. The density is close!

@teortaxesTex oh, I had never heard of the company and saw some articles referring to it as a “startup” so I assumed it was small-ish. But again, I wasn’t sure, hence the “seemingly” but I guess it’s not random lol, learned something new today
