SpaceX reportedly raises its 2027 data-center capacity estimate to roughly 13GW

The firm is less certain about TeraFab, a chip-fabrication project. It leans toward a data center there but says the current groundwork could instead be for supporting facilities, such as on-site gas infrastructure or a central utility plant. The early pads could be repurposed.

Power remains a question in the firm’s projections. SemiAnalysis estimates more than 8GW of power under Elon Musk’s management, less than its estimate of more than 9GW of data-center power coming online. Those figures describe different scopes, not a confirmed power supply for the 2027 target.
