Huawei may unveil its Mate 90 smartphone lineup in China on October 1, according to leaked posters and product details published by NPowerUser. The report describes four devices: the Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max and Mate 90 RS Ultimate Design.
The most detailed claims concern the Mate 90 Pro Max. NPowerUser says leaked material points to a Kirin 9050 Pro processor, 16GB of RAM, a 6,800mAh battery and 100W wired charging. Images show an emerald-green finish with a patterned back and Huawei’s familiar circular camera housing.
The camera claims are the headline
The report describes a 50-megapixel main camera with variable aperture and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. It also claims support for an XMAGE Z10 detachable lens intended to provide 10x optical reach. Those details would make the camera system one of the phone’s defining features if they survive into a shipping product.
The leak also lists a 144Hz tandem dual-layer OLED display with a claimed peak brightness of 10,000 nits. Peak-brightness figures often apply only to limited portions of a display under specific conditions, and the report does not provide testing or official documentation for the number.
Huawei has not confirmed the hardware
The base Mate 90 and Mate 90 Pro are described with Kirin 9050 chips, while the Pro Max and RS models reportedly move to the Pro version. HarmonyOS 7 is expected across the lineup. NPowerUser attributes the launch timing to reports and internal posters from China, but Huawei had not issued a public product announcement in the material inspected for this article.
That leaves the October 1 event, model list and specifications in rumor territory. The leaked imagery offers a coherent preview, but pricing, regional availability and the final camera and display configuration remain unknown until Huawei confirms them.
