Etched Ships First Chip Deployment to Jane Street
Quant trading firm receives the AI chip startup's initial deployment according to WSJ report.
The Wall Street Journal reported that AI chip startup Etched signed quant trading firm Jane Street as its first customer and maintains its own in-office data center. Investor Ali Partovi congratulated founders Rob and team on shipping a chip designed after ChatGPT. Kleiner Perkins partner Mamoon Hamid called Etched the fastest company to ship production AI chips from scratch. Sequoia partner Shaun Maguire and others replied with support after the rack reached the customer. Co-founder Robert Wachen responded to early believers in visible replies.
