@markankcorn @SolDadSci @emollick I've been asking myself the same question ever these models gained the ability to do RAG. It shouldn't be hard to give them access to a manual, so they can to answer questions about version, how to accomplish different tasks via the UI, etc.
@emollick They're spending everything on delivery and starving the rest. Shipping the capability gets the launch; teaching people to get real work out of it is nobody's KPI. The gap you're describing isn't a model problem, it's an org-chart one.
@emollick They give you keys to a goddamn Lambo and no instructions on how to drive/ use it. It's insane. I Have to flip through tech bro youtubers to try and learn things. Not cool.
@emollick They're not even trying.... They never make real tutorials, it's always these short demos but you have no idea how to set it all up because they only show you the result.

@emollick AI companies only show hype marketing videos instead of real step by step guides. No wonder people get confused.
@gdb @emollick Agreed... AI coding power is vastly under-communicated.. the right setups deliver real productivity gains today.
Very few people know the amount of useful work that the current models can do in Code/Codex/etc. with the right setup This is not a "rah rah you are so early" post, this is a "AI companies are doing a really bad job explaining what their systems actually do in a clear way" post.
And the worst part is that they could get AI to help them customize their explanation to individual needs.
@emollick I agree. Any advice on how to do it better?
