i own a 40 year old computer-less clothes dryer that breaks in the same way annually and costs abt 150 bucks to fix
but i am hesitant to replace it with a modern dryer for the same reason i hate that i bought a smart TV
i'm doing the math on how long i should keep this up

i replaced my perfectly serviceable Samsung dumb TV with a LG smart tv and it is the worst decision ive ever made in a lifetime of bad decisions
it starts shouting ads at me while im sitting on the couch doing nothing b/c i moved the controller wrong
if i have one consumer electronics recommendation it is to never buy a new tv again
new TVs serve you ads and require software updates and talk at you
my 2009 flatscreen had two ports and no internet and never broke and it ruled

@MikeIsaac my tv has motion smoothing by default, it cannot be changed, so might as well walk into the mississippi with pockets full of concrete
@MikeIsaac Change the DNS to an ad blocker DNS. your smart TV won't show ads after that

@MikeIsaac Speed Queens are pricey dumb throwbacks. We got a washer, and it has an insane 7 year warranty. Our Whirlpool semi-smart dryer is holding up. The models at Lowes looked flimsy as hell.
