Graham argues retrofitting legacy platforms is highly unlikely.
Positive users express excitement about rebuilding software platforms to accommodate AI agents with easier APIs and CLIs, while negative users dismiss the claims with insults and accusations of lying.
@naval Or new ones will be built that are.
Software platforms are going to be rebuilt for agent-first.

@naval This already happened @naval
I even did a video explaining it and tagged you in it 🙂

@naval humans were just the beta users

@naval The entire concept of a company is being built agent-first. We're building it.

@naval SaaS
How it started: Software as a Service
How it’s going: Software as a Servant

@naval Win at what cost

@naval Exactly 💯

@naval I know this is about blackberry but I can’t prove it…

@naval Platforms will get wrapped instead of rebuilt: an MCP server or an API layer bolted to the same backend that was never built for this much dynamic access.
Why? Much faster and the first wave of agent breaches will be permission and misconfig, not model failures.

@naval Agents asking humans

@naval @grok is this legit?

@naval What is the best way to learn ai today? How does one start coding with ai?

Exactly. Legacy SaaS was built for humans to click tabs. Agent-first SaaS is built for autonomous execution. The future won’t be judged by how pretty the dashboard is, but by how cleanly the infrastructure passes context, handles state memory, and routes tasks to automated workers.

@naval Depends on the software, but i generally agree that we need an agent native interface in most apps.
Currently doing some research in the space http://slopai.dev http://github.com/devteapot/slop

@naval every saas dashboard is about to become a vestigial organ

@naval Most software was designed for humans to operate.
The next generation will be designed for humans to delegate.

@naval Yes, and those who do it the fastest will end up with a big edge.

@naval Yes. It’s already happening In fact, I am working on agent-first interfaces or components.

@naval I see it coming, Also we may have to sell to AI agent not users anymore.
