‘Mass Effect: Universe’ trailer appears online after reports of EA closing BioWare

The Verge reports a Mass Effect: Universe trailer appeared on Reddit on Oct. 22, after EA reportedly closed BioWare and canceled its next Mass Effect game. The Verge relays an opening note calling the video “in-engine footage” using “pre-production assets,” as well as Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier calling the trailer real and IGN saying it verified its legitimacy. Ars Technica quotes an EA memo describing the project as in early development.
