Alarms in cars that go off when someone takes off a seatbelt while the car is in motion, nominally to make things "safer," create dangerous distractions to drivers and absolutely must be eliminated.
Negative users reacted with anger to eliminating seatbelt alarms in moving cars, calling the idea actively hostile and harmful for endangering lives.

If a passenger takes off their seatbelt on the highway, that's a safety risk for the passenger. If the passenger takes off the seatbelt and the car blares an alarm to distract the driver, who cannot disable the alarm, that is a safety risk to everyone in the car.

I don't have words to describe how angry this makes me. Putting people's lives at risk like this is so actively hostile and harmful that someone should do something about it.
