Researcher Defends Software Engineering Rigor With Continuous Testing Standards

We maybe need to revisit medical malpractice laws to better protect doctors so they have more flexibility to improve the standard of care. I would like to understand this issue better, any recs?

Far from perfect, but engineering isn't about perfect, it's about meeting the intersection of needs, feasibility, and trade-offs between multiple objectives.

@treypicou Yes, I understood the joke. But I also had a dozen doctors in my replies talking about how medical malpractice suits made them more conservative about empowering patients with data. Liability in medicine seems to make progress harder in some ways.

@jachiam0 that and patient safety of course. like if you mess up something on twitter a user doesn’t get hurt and it the timeline goes down they don’t die. there does need to be some risk aversion (arguably there is too much atm) when human health is directly impacted
