Nyobolt has paired its battery technology with non-humanoid warehouse robots. The Information reports the company reached a $1 billion valuation through this application. The battery originated in the University of Cambridge lab of chemistry professor Clare Grey. It charges in one or two minutes. Earlier versions were considered too expensive for electric vehicles because of the downtime required for slower charging. Warehouse robots gained a commercial edge by avoiding long charging periods.
