Turn code into designs your whole team can edit by connecting Codex to the Figma canvas
Positive users praise Figma's Codex-to-Canvas link for shrinking the design-code gap teams have needed, while negative users complain it adds UI clutter and enables unwanted real-time code changes by designers.

@figma code into designs is the one direction nobody asked to automate but here we are

Codex on the canvas is genuinely impressive. But the three suggested integrations at the bottom tell the real story.
Linear. Messaging. Files.
Figma isn't becoming an AI design tool. It's becoming the product operating system that happens to have a canvas in it. Different product entirely. Not sure every design team is ready for what that actually means for their workflow.

@figma every new figma feature is another panel to close before you can actually design.

@figma code → design in figma is the interesting direction. most ai design tools go the other way. starting from code means whatever the dev built is the source of truth. design becomes the editor, not the originator

@figma This is the kind of bridge teams actually need, as long as the canvas stays editable instead of becoming a screenshot of code decisions.

@figma 🎨 + 👨🏻💻 = 🛸🚀

@figma Can’t wait for my Figma file to have more AI agents than actual design elements.

@figma Has anyone found this beneficial? I don’t to waste my tokens I want to see if it’s already in code why don’t I just prompt codex?

@figma the product OS framing is sharp. the integrations are the real tell - Codex + Linear + Messaging + Files isn't a design workflow, it's a product team workflow. the canvas just happens to be where it all converges.

@figma This is fucking awesome

@figma So, with an MCP call threshold you adjusted, I can design a total blank page using Codex. Thank you for making MCP impractical under these tight limitations.

@figma tried this yesterday and the mcp tool calling was rate limited after 1 try

@figma The sync direction is the real challenge. Generating Figma from code is one-shot — but keeping designs in sync as code evolves is the hard part. Curious if this handles live updates or it's generate-once.

@figma The gap between design and code just got a lot smaller, this is what teams have been waiting for

@figma @miggi 1. Fix your canvas (html, css) no open gl. 2. Allow me to prompt vectors 3. Ignore code
And you will win.

@figma This puts code in the one place design teams can actually negotiate with it.

@stanthepixelman @figma If you go through their last 20+ posts, you will see everyone saying the same thing. It's so confusing why they keep doubling down
