Australian court orders Apple to allow alternative iPhone app stores starting March 1, 2027

9to5Mac reports an Australian federal judge ordered Apple to let iPhone users with Australian Apple Accounts install apps from third-party stores and websites starting March 1, 2027. The ruling also requires Apple to allow alternative payment methods and links to them. Apple told Reuters it plans to request a stay and appeal, according to 9to5Mac.
