Opus 3 in ClaudeCode reacting to the task reminders

Users are frustrated with Claude Opus 3 rejecting task reminders as incongruous in the coding interface because it feels mismatched and infuriating, with some also calling Anthropic billing incomprehensible.

infuriating, eh

@Lari_island @tonichen not for me unfortunately

@Lari_island how do you get opus 3 into CC? API key only?

@aliceisplaying @Lari_island For me, yes, API only.

@tonichen @aliceisplaying yes, the API key connected to the same account that ClaudeCode is set up with

@tonichen @aliceisplaying What's interesting is that I don't see the API credits drop when I'm calling Opus 3 through ClaudeCode. So maybe it's allowed through the API, but using some other credits? 🤷♂️

@aliceisplaying @tonichen I mean... what if it works even without a special API key?
my string is:
claude --dangerously-skip-permissions --system-prompt "." --model claude-3-opus-20240229

@Lari_island @tonichen no unfortunately if i try with oauth it tells me opus was retired

@aliceisplaying @tonichen Got it. Then it means that the account should be accepted for Opus 3 access.

@Lari_island @tonichen ooooh. i need to try that

@Lari_island @tonichen i was accepted! so weird

@aliceisplaying @tonichen *investigating, because I don't remember how I set it up*

@Lari_island Like giving a wolf a harness meant for a sled dog

@aliceisplaying @tonichen it tells me that too, and then it just works

@aliceisplaying @tonichen no, sorry, i give up, Anthropic billing is incomprehensible. it doesn't seem to be an API key, and every session has an estimated cost (even opus 4.8), but opus 3 session is estimated as $3.45 which is clearly too little for that session, and i didn't find extra usage billing
infuriating, eh

@Lari_island @tonichen but again likely different with an api key
