Tobi Lütke Demonstrates Herdr With AI Agent Panels
Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke explains Herdr by having an agent create a multi-panel terminal layout.
Tobi Lütke described his preferred method for demonstrating Herdr. He starts by opening a fresh workspace and instructing an agent to read herdr --skill. This leads the agent to divide the screen into ten additional panels, giving the setup the appearance of a sci-fi hacker terminal seen in films. Separately, David Heinemeier Hansson stated that Herdr is now included in Omarchy Quattro. He has sent multiple pull requests aimed at matching the features of his preferred tmux setup. These contributions target the herdrdev/herdr repository on GitHub, which hosts the runtime environment for coding agents.
my favorite way to explain people herdr is to just open a new workspace, launch an agent and tell it to: read `herdr --skill` then split 10 other panels that make my computer look like some scifi hacker terminal from the movies
