@NathanpmYoung @ohabryka @HiFromMichaelV @GiveWell Got it. Given that claim I should interpret you as doing politics in basically every setting. (Also the whole methodology is ridiculous in a way that truth-oriented people would feel significant qualms about, which is a corroborating datapoint.)
I would guess that being right is worth on average 150 QADUs (quality-adjusted discourse units), though there’s sharp variance because being right about AI is worth a billion QADUs. Whereas being seen to be right is only worth 77 QADUs or so on average (based on my BOTEC). So my estimate is that optimizing for being right actually is almost twice as valuable as optimizing for being seen to be right. I think you should either provide hard numbers like me or else concede.
