Hermes Desktop App Adds HUD Mode Overlay
The feature turns the assistant into an overlay layer on active applications rather than a separate window.
Nous Research shared updates on its Hermes desktop agent. HUD mode lets the AI appear as a layer over apps users are already working in. Posts from the company account and co-founder Teknium describe the agent viewing and interacting with underlying applications. Users can drag the overlay, keep it visible as a companion, or ask it questions while focused on another program. Earlier versions required switching between separate windows. The change appears in recent posts from the official Nous Research account and related accounts.
HUD mode Hermes stops being a window you switch to and becomes a layer over the app you're both working in. Or keep it around as a little buddy agent. Ask it random things, drag it anywhere, it's yours @NousResearch
