Report
Nasdaq falls 5.5% into correction territory in tech sell-off
The Nasdaq lost an estimated $2.5 trillion in market value as AI-related shares led the decline.
TLDR
The November 5 slide was the Nasdaq’s biggest one-day percentage drop since April 2025. Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla collectively lost around $1 trillion, while every S&P 500 sector finished lower. Weak AI-sector earnings and fears of tougher scrutiny following Democrats’ midterm gains helped drive the rout.
