Tried new Siri. Absolute hot garbage. Still.
1. Won’t tell you what tools it has access to… so you can’t prompt it
2. Doesn’t know what apps are on your phone or which ones it has access to unless you tell it. How am I supposed to know what apps are compatible…
3. Doesn’t actually know what it can do per app, says it can search, but actually can’t
This is what they came up with after over a year??? Did anyone on the team even try it?
Many users expressed disappointment with the new Siri for its poor app awareness, limited capabilities, and failure to meet expectations after years of development.

The devs at Bear and many, many others have to do the work to get this working with app intents/entities to donate data to Siri.
However if the .md files are in iCloud Drive/Files app, you can just point it at the folder in the Files app and ask questions about them. For example:

did you try with like the default, basic Apple apps?
I think most reviews are only pointing to those default apps

@noisemakerjon Having billions of customers & the legal that goes with it does complicate things lol.
But also that’s what the company should be able to do.

Because even I could make a better Siri in less then a week
@mittalparth_ I did try email & calendar which seemed to work okay
But it’s really confusing because I have literally no idea what it can do, and it also won’t tell me

@stevenswiki They already did. That’s the problem. Siri can’t use tools correctly.

the fact that they’d been working on it for so so long thought maybe just maybe they’d pull it off
thing is that year plus release plans just don’t make sense anymore. ai models, tooling, harnesses etc move at a much faster pace
I understand the billions of customers and the struggles with scaling it that big and trying to work under the constraints of the devices specs.
I was hoping at least the beta would be really nice and the live version will be alittle worse

@NickADobos Also it has weird arbitrary limits on the apps it can access, e.g. for some reason it can only see a small fraction of my music and playlists
