@tunguz i've been quite discombobulated today, on release i was winding down for bed so it didnt register. mulling it all over today, trying to predict what setting this precedent means for the future.. my brain is struggling, like I've been roundhouse kicked in the head. really odd

@tunguz he mentioned the word 'cyber', now downgrade him to Opus 4.8
Our Anthropic overlords deciding which prompts the peasants are allowed to use.

@Shimshon1800 @tunguz learned a new German word today!

@tunguz the year is 2027:
-you prompt claude about vacation plans -claude checks your bills and taxes -sees you owe money to irs -reports you and ends prompt

@tunguz Karpathy be like:

The thing that blows my mind is how casually people assume these decisions are objective.
They’re not.
Every definition of harm, truth, safety, acceptable speech, and acceptable inquiry is being filtered through human beings with their own backgrounds, biases, incentives, and worldview.
That’s true for Silicon Valley.
That’s true for governments.
That’s true for universities.
That’s true for everyone.
Which is exactly why “trust us, we’re the right people to decide for everybody” isn’t an answer. It’s the question.

@tunguz The worst kind of people are those who believe they have the right and moral superiority to tell everyone else what is the right or wrong thing to do.

@tunguz It puts the prompts in the basket.

@tunguz Holy banger

@tunguz i really just pay $200 a month to be told by the Oracles that the knowledge they possess is too dangerous for my feeble mind

@tunguz Poor Andrej, he barely joined the team and all the evil points at him 😂

@theoharvey yeah similar feeling with me too bro

@tunguz BANGER

@tunguz permanent underclass is real

@tunguz give it 6 months and we’ll have a 99% as capable open source and/or jailbreak version of fable/mythos

Personally, I’m entirely over anthropic altogether. There are too many compelling alternatives and too many good resources out there that are borderline AGI that to not engineer with tools that are simply open source or not gated is more of the responsibility of the consumer at this point then out of Anthropic.

@tunguz Its so ironic that the world is looking towards China for liberation in this aspect 🤯🤯

@tunguz needing-begging-waiting for the dei trolls, mainstreet and tech bros to reach across the aisle rn, dockup, and form a passive-agg united front dedicated exclusively to passioinately hating, hard-mythos-mode on this photo.
pls. thx.
