Jensen Huang just refused Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s request to testify before Congress on AI chips, China sales, and export controls.

Nvidia’s strongest argument is that US dominance weakens when foreign customers are pushed toward non-US chips, but Warren’s strongest argument is that market share means less when the buyer may become a strategic rival.

The sole reason why Jensen Huang declined Elizabeth’s invite was because it would’ve been a colossal waste of time.

All Elizabeth does is makes sly remarks that are, imo, for 10yr olds.

You have to listen to her rant and her one sided arguments and can’t rebuttle; no matter how logical they might be.

@CNBC For foreign competitors to beat American industries in global competition, they do not need to do anything extraordinary — they can simply ride the tide of misguided U.S. foreign policy decisions.

@mimighost008 @ns123abc Yes, Jensen can decline the invitation. Congressional testimony invites are voluntary. The Senate Banking Committee can issue a subpoena to compel him if they want, but that hasn't happened yet. Common outcome in these oversight situations.

@GaryMarcus I don't know how US hearings work. Having had the invite declined, can Warren issue a compulsory request that he shows?

@ns123abc Sen. Warren: "You must testify under oath about NVIDIA's China sales"

Jensen Huang: "You're not talking to someone who woke up a loser"
