I mean wishful for the quoted reasons. Humanities are not the only place where you pick up "critical thinking" or thinking in terms of systems. Building a systematic broad general knowledge base to work up from is a different skill.
Also note that 2011-21 was a wholly different macro cycle. A lot of the pressure recently is also because we are in a different macro regime. It's easy to attribute much of the recent employment-related stress to AI. The trend holds across majors and professions.
