At least two influencers I've spoken to have been approached with offers of money in exchange for posting negatively about Flock cameras on X.
Tech guys showed up in the replies to defend Flock, but the primary argument is that you have to be a paid shill to have any issue with the cameras. If this is the messaging to the public, it’s little wonder people are growing to hate them. If you want the public to think they’re necessary, you’re going to need to convince the cameras will be used to solve actual crimes, not petty traffic offenses
@davidu @CurrentRevolt Political accounts have been the biggest offenders of undisclosed paid promotions. We’ve been investigating cases of foreign influencer campaigns recently. Often the influencer accepting payment assumes it’s just some American advocacy group.
