Bhuwan Dhingra posted that three of eight papers assigned for ARR August meta reviews begin with titles of the form "X is not Y" and all eight smell of AI through obscure topics and hard-to-parse jargon. Tuhin Chakrabarty replied that he has decided to take a break from ARR reviewing because of fatigue from AI papers, AI reviewers, and AI rebuttals. Chakrabarty also pointed to fake statements claiming use of a privacy-preserving tool. Dhingra added that ARR submissions carry no requirement to disclose LLM usage. @bhuwandhingra I have decided to take a break from ARR reviewing. Too much fatigue from reading this pile of slop. AI papers , AI reviewers and AI rebuttals.
I have one submission, which means I am required to do reciprocal reviews. But if the quality continues to degrade like this then I will have to ask my group to skip ARR altogether. What's completely crazy is that, afaik, ARR submissions do not even need to add a disclosure…
