Reviewers Flag AI Papers and Plan ARR Break
Academics on X discuss suspected AI-generated papers and missing disclosure rules in ACL Rolling Review.
Bhuwan Dhingra posted that three of eight papers assigned for ARR August meta reviews begin with titles of the form "X is not Y" and all eight smell of AI through obscure topics and hard-to-parse jargon. Tuhin Chakrabarty replied that he has decided to take a break from ARR reviewing because of fatigue from AI papers, AI reviewers, and AI rebuttals. Chakrabarty also pointed to fake statements claiming use of a privacy-preserving tool. Dhingra added that ARR submissions carry no requirement to disclose LLM usage. Danish Pruthi retweeted Dhingra's post.
